Mansell’s £15,000 pet protector

MOTOR racing legend Nigel Mansell has joined a new breed of dog owner.

His Alsatian Geisha is a much-loved family pet – but she’s also a highly trained bodyguard, capable of bringing down an attacker with a single bite.

Geisha is the latest Personal Protection Dog to be snapped up by a growing number of the rich and famous.

Unlike many guard dogs, PPD’s are selected for their temperament and are taught to be gentle around children.

Mansell, 53, who has three children and one grandchild, said: “Geisha is my pride and joy. It’s comforting to know she’s around especially when crime appears to be on the up.”
